Privatization

In late 1999, Ukrainian President Kuchma issued a decree concerning his government's interest in accelerating the overall reform process taking place in Ukraine. One of the most important aspects of this decree relates to the privatization of agricultural land. ULRMC is in a unique position to support the Ukrainian government in this critical reform process by constructing information databases concerning all aspects of the privatization process. Using ULRMC archived Landsat images from 1988 that document land cover and coastline conditions for all of Ukraine, ULRMC can use more recent high resolution imagery and GPS technology to provide and to record objective data resulting from the privatization process.
