"Agrobiodiversity of Ukraine: Theory, Methodology, Indicators, Examples. Book 2". This is the final collection of works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists, which is devoted to theory, methodology and indication of the status of the Ukrainian mega-agroecosystem surface, which is published under the UNEP-GEF support. It provides unique summarizing material on metric properties of the mega-agroecosystem and its environment, including agrobiodiversity natural and zonal indices (local and alien plant species, cultivated plant sorts, birds, and mammals), which actually covers the 1927-2005 experience. Based on correlative analysis and modeling, it considers analogues of country size mega-ecosystems and substantiates statements on existing of statistically stable groupings of European countries, for which taxonomic diversity indicators may stay interdependent for long time. It outlines for the first time approaches to mathematical modeling of complicated agroecosystems, which are influenced by military and man-caused activity, and gives prove of a rehabilitation purpose of the "calm area" and use of "Lewinberger's observer" to assess the agroecosystem status. It substantiates also using new for the national environmental school biodiversity indicators and indices, among which - Habitat changes trend: amplitude of changes based on RS-GIS data (RS-GIS-index), Distribution and abundance of wild relatives of main crops (WRMC), Species status: alien species in protected areas (plants) etc. The study is advantageously distinguished by richness of materials of field biological surveys on insects, plants, birds, and mammals, as well as the fact that the authors are actively using RS and GIS materials to study metric properties of habitats. It represents indisputable evidences of wild agrobiodiversity spontaneous management, which results in scaled crisis phenomena, for which the society has not developed rehabilitation and/or regulatory measures at all (non-special facilitation of attenuation of wild agrobiodiversity with the alien one, abandonment in relation to WRMC, ±25% amplitude of habitat areas change, decrease of correlation connections power in the taxonomic natural and zonal pyramid etc.). It validates also use of agrobiodiversity indicators and indices for compiling the 3rd National Report on Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The annexes provide English versions of the most interesting summaries on studying the Ukrainian mega-agroecosystem under the UNEP-GEF BINU Project. The collection is a subsidiary material for the Searchable System and "GIS-Agrobio".
