ULRMC participates in public discussions of the 3rd Draft National Report on Biodiversity Conservation in Ukraine (NR-3) proposing more active use of an indicator-index approach for reporting. As examples there were used the UNEP-GEF BINU Project developments, including materials of the respective Searchable List of Indicators.

The discussion is performed by the non-governmental environmental-legal organization „EcoPravo-Kyiv” under support of the UN Environmental Program (UNEP) – it is under the annual project aimed at facilitating public involvement into preparation of National Reports on Implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements, including the Convention on Biodiversity. In June this year, through its web-site „EcoPravo-Kyiv” invited representatives of all stakeholders to participate in discussion of the NR-3 prepared by the Ministry for Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Details on this powerful public initiative are placed on the Internet – see Public Participation in Preparation of the National Report on Biodiversity Conservation in Ukraine. It is expected that EcoPravo-Kyiv will submit all obtained comments and proposals to the Ministry for Environmental Protection of Ukraine.

You can get informed with respective proposals coming from ULRMC – Proposals on Correction and Considerable Improvement of the 3rd National Report on Performance Status of CBD – here.
