Development of Thematic Maps for the Crimea Geographic Atlas

The project was implemented by the request of the Tavria (Vernadsky) National University, Simferopol. The main objective of the project was to prepare a mosaic of Crimea territory, using six Landsat 4 TM images from ULRMC archive of 1988, to be included in the Geographic Atlas of Crimea. Each scene was orthorectified to remove the geometric distortions inherent in the original TM data, radiometrically balanced to remove seasonal and atmospheric variations, and mosaiced to provide one continuous image of the entire region. The image is a color-infrared composite of TM bands 7 (mid-infrared), 4 (near-infrared) and 1 (blue).
