Health Issues in Mykolayiv Oblast, Ukraine
In response to a request from USAID Kyiv in September 2000, ULRMC supported the efforts of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) delegation invited by the Ukrainian government to investigate health issues in the Mykolaivs'ka Oblast of Ukraine. In addition to traveling to the region with the U.S. delegation, ULRMC created a Client Services webpage to support the American experts on the delegation once they returned to the U.S.
The source data used by ULRMC in constructing this webpage and in producing the associated data applications were provided by the Ministry for Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, its Department for Hydrometeorology, and the State Water Committee, as well as oblast and local representations. Using the source data provided for water, ground, atmosphere and weather elements, as well as using remotely sensed imagery, ULRMC created several data applications. Some examples are provided below.
