At the end of 2006 ULRMC has finished work on the "Development and Implementation of Automatic Workplace for State Environmental Protection Inspector" Project. The project was implemented for State ecological inspection within the framework of the budget program "Environmental monitoring and maintenance of the state control requirements observance of the environmental protection legislation".

With the purpose to improve the work of the state inspectors during project execution by the ULRMC experts the necessary legislative and help information was assembled which concerns State ecological inspection activity and region state environmental protection managements, cartographical base for work of the state inspector with definition of the pollutant-objects arrangement on it, the documents preparation tools concerning measures application of administrative influence on the environmental legislation infringers and damage compensation for pollution of environmental legislation, check realization of the inspection subdivisions, objects, including enterprises of any branches and territories by the state environmental protection inspectors.

The created automated workplace includes the following automated blocks:

• Database of legislative, regulatory and methodical maintenance of inspection activity;
• Automated account of damage caused to environment by the pollutant-objects;
• Automated system of work with the formalized forms necessary for inspection activity, their accumulation and sampling;
• Cartographical information for the state inspector work (characteristic of natural resources, nature protection objects) with entering the large pollutant-objects on this basis (in GIS format) with their characteristics.

The user instruction is developed and the recommendations for installation of Automatic Workplace are prepared, all specified automated blocks are recorded on CD, the cartographical materials are integrated with the help of Dynamic Atlas software.

In the long term this work and the informational-technical approaches used in it can be useful not only for the employees of State ecological inspection, and also for the experts-ecologists, workers of other establishments, which are engaged in nature protection activity. Specified Automatic Workplace is the important addition to modern GIS-development informational library of applied meaning offered by ULRMC recently.
