April 22, 2004 - ULRMC signed an Agreement of Cooperation with the State Scientific-Technical Conversion Enterprise "Space-Telecom Corporation". The signing of this Agreement was stipulated by the importance of joint data use and scientific cooperation in the field of natural resources protection and rational use, as well as natural resources monitoring with the purpose of supporting the sustainable development, economic growth and environmental safety in Ukraine.

ULRMC and "Space-Telecom Corporation" will cooperate in the following directions:

1. Use of ULRMC technological and information capabilities, including remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems for:
   • Preparing materials to make management decisions in the area of natural resources protection, conservation and rehabilitation;
   • Assisting State Authorities, responsible for environmental emergency situations response, including those, connected with military activities, with information support to make management decisions on human life safety;
   • Implementation of regular environmental monitoring elements.
2. Use of technological and professional capabilities of ULRMC and "Space-Telecom Corporation" specialists for experience exchange in the areas of remote sensing and GIS.
3. Joint development and implementation of environmentally safe nature use technologies.

Both parties also agreed to promote the use of GIS technologies, remote sensing technologies, data base and network technologies, as well as algorithms for systems development to support the decision-making process and Internet.
