October 23, 2003 - ULRMC held a Scientific and Technical Advisory Council (STAC) Meeting. Among the participants and members of STAC were the representatives of Altarum Institute, Environmental and Resources Research Institute of Ukraine (ERRIU), US Agency for International Development (USAID), US Geological Survey (USGS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Institute of Space Research of Ukraine, Center of Aerospace Research of the Earth, State Service of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, as well as ULRMC management.
STAC meetings are held every three months. The main task of STAC members is to evaluate the on-going and completed projects, as well as to provide recommendations on more effective projects implementation. This time, STAC members reviewed such projects as "Biodiversity Indicators for National Use (Agrobiodiversity)", "Water Quality Program Assessment and Abatement in the Dnipro Estuary Project - Phase 2", "Support of USAID's Ukraine Land Titling Initiative". In addition to projects review, a report on ULRMC completed projects in 2003 was made by O. Mazurkevich, ULRMC General Director. Paul Hearn, USGS, gave an introduction to municipal GIS implementation in Zakarpattia.
