ULRMC Hosts a Presentation by Senior Remote Sensing Researcher, NASA

April 17, 2003 - ULRMC will be hosting a presentation by Dr. Don Deering, a Senior Remote Sensing Researcher with NASA, entitled "A New Window on the World: The Progress of NASA's Earth Observing System." The presentation will give an overview of NASA's remote sensing capabilities.

Dr. Deering has been a pioneer in the study of earth's vegetation with remote sensing and played a major role in the Large-Scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Amazonia. He is a key organizer of the Northern Eurasia Earth Science Partnership Initiative (NEESPI), with the goal of understanding the state and dynamics of terrestrial ecosystems in northern Eurasia and their interactions with the earth's climate system. Dr. Deering will be visiting ULRMC to learn more about its use of remote sensing for studying environmental problems in Ukraine.

The presentation will take place at ULRMC's office at 15:00 at 13 Chokolivskiy Boulevard. For more information please contact at 230-2266.
