Altarum and ULRMC Continue to Support Ukrainian Orphanages

For the third consecutive year, Altarum and ULRMC have teamed up to provide much-needed assistance to Ukrainian orphanages in the Kyiv region, as well as in the Zakarpattia region where ULRMC has a representative office. Exceeding the collective generosity of 900 in 2000 and 1,300 in 2001, Altarum and ULRMC have already pledged and extended approximately 1,500 in 2002 support over the past two months.

To start the 2002 holiday season, ULRMC organized, at the specific request of two orphanages, flu vaccinations for some 175 children in November 2002. So as not to leave these children with a painful impression of our charitable will, ULRMC staff visited the orphanages in December 2002 to spread the holiday cheer with treats, toys and camaraderie.

It is rewarding to note that Altarum and ULRMC clients and partners have also joined to support the initiative with contributions made by representatives of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID-Kyiv), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Ford Motor Company.
