David Schaub has joined the staff of Altarum Institute to serve as Technical Advisor to ULRMC in Kyiv. Schaub is a specialist in Geographic Information Systems and remote sensing.

Schaub previously worked as a Research Specialist at the University of Arizona (UA) where he validated image data for NASA's Earth Observation Science program. This work included collaborations with international teams of scientists to collect field data in the U.S. and Brazil. Prior to his work at UA, Schaub was a GIS Analyst with the Geospatial Division of Veridian where he led projects in terrain mapping, agricultural applications, data conversion, and quality control. He has also worked as a consultant for local governments and environmental organizations in southern Arizona, his home state.

At ULRMC Schaub will work with Ukrainian experts using GIS tools and satellite imagery to assess environmental changes, flooding problems, fires, and land titling issues.
