ULRMC Takes Part in Jury of the Ford Conservation & Environmental Grants Competition

November 15, 2002 - ULRMC participated in the Award Ceremony of the Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants Competition, established to support projects on environmental and cultural protection in Ukraine.

In 2002, the Grant Ford Motor jury selected the best three projects out of 144 presented for the contest. Mykola Zalogin, ULRMC Senior Marketing and Research Specialist, participated in the grant selection process and attended the award ceremony for the contestants.

In attendance at the award ceremony was Mr. Andrew G. Acho, Worldwide Director, Environmnetal Outreach & Strategy, Ford Motor Company, whose first visit to Ukraine demonstrated the importance that Ford Company places on this national competition.

During his Ukraine's visit, Mr. Acho visited ULRMC, where he discussed, with the ULRMC management and Dan Thompson, Environmental Advisor, USAID-Kyiv, possible environmental programs of the Ford Motor Company in Ukraine.

On November 16, 2002 ULRMC also organized the visit of the Ford Motor Company team to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone to learn more about the current environmental situation within the Exclusion Zone and to review the issues of project participation in the 2003 Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants Competition.
