ULRMC Presented Its Environmental Projects at the Fifth All-Ukrainian Exhibition "Environment 2002"

Sixty-six companies and organizations working in the area of environmental protection presented their products. The exhibition held on May 12-24, 2002 at the National Exhibition Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" was organized by The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Chernobyl Affairs. The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Serhiy Kurykin, opened the exhibition.

Visitors had an opportunity to learn more about advanced technologies, equipment and services in the areas of efficient natural resource management, environmental safety, optimal land use, air and water purity, and environmental monitoring.

ULRMC presented its projects for information support of flood monitoring in the Tysa River Basin, forest cover change analysis in Zakarpattia, management of nature reserve areas in Crimea and the Carpathians, development of monitoring capacities for the Dnipro River and Black Sea Basin.

During the exhibition, more than 150 visitors were able to learn more about ULRMC. In recognition of its participation, ULRMC was awarded a Diploma for Active Presentation at the Exhibition. The exhibition management decided to include ULRMC into the list of the organizations that would participate in the environmental exhibition within the framework of the Pan-European Conference "Environment for Europe" ("Kyiv-2003") on May 21-23, 2003 in Kyiv.
